Hi Friends,
Happy Spring!
I’m excited to share that I have a solo art show from April 17 through May 9 in the Gantner Gallery at the Essex Art Association.
Last spring, I was honored to receive the 'Solo Gantner Gallery Award' for my collage Summer Sisters. The juror, Elaine Juska Joseph, shared this about my below collage:
“This artist has a strong, sophisticated command of her medium (collage)… It is a masterful work and I look forward to seeing a collection of Ms. Wetmore’s collages together on the Gantner Gallery’s walls.”
"Summer Sisters" (original collage-NFS)

That recognition led to this upcoming exhibition–one I’m truly grateful for–where I’ll be showing a range of original collages, along with signed prints and notecards, all available for purchase.
I’d love for you to join me at the opening reception on Friday, April 24 from 6 pm to 8 pm. It will be a great way to celebrate together!
This show feels especially meaningful to me. The Essex Art Association is where I was first accepted into a juried exhibition back in 2023 (for my collage "Towards Shelter Island" pictured below), as part of their Blue Skies Smiling at Me exhibition. The past three years have been whirlwind...and this truly feels like a full-circle moment.
This is a milestone year for the Essex Art Association as they celebrate their 80th anniversary. I’m honored to be showing my work alongside such a rich history of artists.

NEXT UP:
After my EAA solo show, I’ll be part of the Madison Art Society’s 51st Annual Members Show (May 4–29) at the E.C. Scranton Memorial Library in Madison, CT. Stay tuned for more info on that...
As always, thank you for your ongoing support!
Fondly, Alex
