"Grass Island Shack" - Smilow Healing Art Gallery
Hello Friends,
I hope you all had a great summer! After a busy season of art shows, I took the month of August off from creating my collages. Now, I'm back at it–madly ripping magazine swatches and working on new ideas. Suddenly, September is here, bringing with it two art shows featuring some of my work:
CURRENT SHOWS
SMILOW HEALING ART GALLERY: Smilow Cancer Hospital
My original collage, “Grass Island Shack” (pictured above) is on display at the Smilow Healing Art Gallery at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, CT. Many different artists were asked to submit their renditions of this iconic red shack located in Guilford, CT. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Rosalyn Cama and CAMA Inc. for curating this amazing exhibit. I hope that my work, along with the contributions of the other talented artists in this show, will provide some comfort to the cancer patients and their families who walk through this hallway each day.
GUILFORD ART LEAGUE: 76th Annual Juried Exhibition & Sale
I'm pleased to announce that "Onto the Beach" original collage (pictured below) will be on exhibit from September 9 through September 28 at the Gallery at the Guilford Art Center. My gratitude goes out to juror, Alexa MacCrady, for my inclusion in the Guilford Art League's juried show. If you are able to, please join me at the Opening Reception this Friday, September 13, at the Guilford Art Center located at 411 Church Street, in Guilford, Connecticut.

September also marks the start of my "commission season". I open it every fall, as my collages can make a great 'personalized gift' for the holidays. Get in touch with me soon as commission spots are limited. Learn more about my process here.
If you live in New England (or the Tri-state area) enjoy the beautiful weather we're supposed to have this week! Summer isn't over yet. I'll be in touch next month with another print giveaway. Stay tuned and thank you all for your continued support.
Fondly,
Alex
A big shoutout of thanks to my newest email subscribers, especially those who signed up to receive my updates during the Guilford Art Expo weekend. I'm thrilled to have you all here!
