"Lobster Boil" : Bon Appetit Juried Show: Lyme Art Association
Hello Friends,
Art is my go-to for finding calm...
I hope a little art can bring you a moment of peace amid the tension that so many of us are feeling right now. No surprise, I’ve been creating a lot of new collages over the past several months.
Here is a list of my November shows:
CURRENT SHOWS
BON APPETIT JURIED EXHIBITION: Lyme Art Association
My original collage, “Lobster Boil” (pictured above) is on display at the Lyme Art Association in Old Lyme, CT, as part of their Bon Appetit juried show.
My thanks goes out to juror, Shawn Kenney, for my acceptance into this wonderful show. Bon Appétit promises to be a feast for the eyes. The exhibition will be on display in the Goodman Gallery from November 1-December 29, 2024.
SOLO SHOW: WATERS EDGE GALLERY
Excited to announce my solo exhibition at the Waters Edge Resort & Spa (https://watersedgeresortandspa.com/) in Westbrook, CT is now on view through January 2025. Stop by the first-floor lobby to see six of my original collages, including my newest piece, “On The Rocks” (pictured below). Special thanks goes out to the Clinton Art Society for the opportunity to exhibit in this satellite gallery and beautiful space—a destination in itself! Stay tuned for more featured pieces from the show. Be sure to follow me on Instagram for all the latest news: https://www.instagram.com/alexwetmoreart
UPCOMING SHOWS
SHORELINE ARTS TRAIL 2024
Saturday, November 16 & Sunday, November 17, 2024
I'm looking forward to this annual tradition happening in a few days.
The Shoreline Arts Trail is comprised of 45 member artists who live and work in the towns of Branford, Guilford, and Madison, along the beautiful Connecticut shoreline.
I'll be exhibiting with Hilary Griffin and Nikki Travaglino at the new Madison Center for History and Culture (right off the Madison Green...downstairs at Lee's Academy).
Here are a few of my collages that will be on display and available for sale during the Trail...create your own map route by using the QR code below-and looking for the physical signs popping up around Branford, Guilford and Madison.
I've also been doing the marketing for the Trail for the past eight months, and we had a nice segment on "Great Day Connecticut" last week. One of my 'Madison' collages even made an appearance. Take a look at the clip here.
Many thanks for being a VIPer, subscriber, and supporter of my art journey!
Fondly, Alex
